It was amazing to (finally) see Paul perform last Tuesday.
During my final portfolio review at Hallmark, I remember one of the panelists pointing out a strong contrast in my portfolio. He said that my love for controlling the details within my photographs was clear, yet I also photographed live bands, where I have close to no control. Then came a comment somewhere along the lines of “doesn’t that drive you crazy?!”
The answer to that is both yes and no.
When Dan Smith began talking to the crowd with just this (green!) work light illuminating him, I expected a stage light to come on. I was wrong. I hate using flash at shows, and so I was left with the work light alone. It was a struggle to even keep him in focus while he moved (though still standing in place), but I was able to get a few photos that I’m happy with.

Earlier this month, I took a day off from my retouching job to shoot just for myself. I hope to do so again soon!

longing
My wonderful boyfriend, Tyler Daniel Bean, is an artist of the musical sort.
One weekend in February, we snowshoed atop the deep snow in the woods at my parents’ house. We shuffled, and shuffled, and shuffled (and fell) between stops to take photos. This was our favorite photo, and will be the cover of Tyler’s first solo full length, longing.
You can preview it by listening to the songs that have been released on his bandcamp and facebook. Note that different songs are posted on each one.

Another photo of Josh Z’s little lady, taken back in February. She sits still for the camera a lot better than my own cat, Lulu does!
My new website is up and running! It features a few images that have not previously been posted.
Feedback (including constructive criticism) is both welcome and appreciated.

Tigers Jaw
Tyler and I took a mini vacation to Providence, RI last month. There was no questioning whether we were going to see Tigers Jaw or not when we found out they were playing in the city during our stay.
Long time no talk.
I shot some self portraits the other day but wasn’t as pleased with them as the ones from my last self session. This was an outtake, but I’m beginning to like it a lot more than the one I previously posted.
Everything has been crazy busy, but a lot of to-do lists and projects are nearly completed. I can’t wait to get back into my normal schedule. I’ll be posting more soon!
